Eternia returns across six platforms

Bandai Namco’s October 16 launch announcement confirms Tales of Eternia Remastered is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam. Reid, Farah, Keele and Meredy set out to prevent the Grand Fall, a collision threatening Inferia and Celestia. The remaster gives that adventure a new release alongside options intended to make returning to its battles and exploration more convenient.

Presentation and progression you can adjust

Graphics Mode and SFX Mode let players switch between the remastered and original visuals and sound effects. Boost settings adjust experience gains and encounter frequency, while destination icons help indicate where to go next. Battles gain retry and quick-recovery options, plus faster automatic combat. Extreme difficulty is available from the start, and the additional Unknown setting unlocks after completing the game.

Install the launch update first

Bandai Namco recommends applying version 2.0.0 before playing. The update adds Titles to the elements carried into a second playthrough and beyond, fixes some text issues, and introduces a Font Style setting. That font option only works when the game language is Japanese, and some text cannot be changed. The setting is accessible through Menu, Custom and Font Style.

Read the download figures carefully

The published update sizes are approximately 7 GB for Switch 2 and Steam, 8 GB for Xbox Series X|S, 300 MB for Switch, 500 MB for PS5 and 1.3 GB for PS4. The Switch 2, Xbox Series and Steam figures include the main game, so they are not standalone patch sizes. North American console unlocks were scheduled for October 15 at 9 p.m. PDT; the European guide lists October 16 at midnight local time for consoles.
