The northern gates are open
Enshrouded’s 1.0 release is now live, Keen Games confirmed on October 15. The milestone opens the complete Embervale map and introduces Cinder’s Cradle beyond Veilwater Basin, pairing a volcanic wasteland with floating islands built by the Ancients. The main story also reaches a conclusion, although the studio qualifies that ending as “for now.”
The update adds Hollow Halls in the Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin, alongside expanded areas in earlier biomes. Progression reaches player level 50 and fully upgraded equipment level 55, giving returning groups a new ceiling to work toward.
More ways to fight and build
Mages receive nine new spell types, with additions covering crowd control, area damage, summons and utility. Every spell now has an eternal variation, and eternal spells and arrows can be upgraded like equipment. Wand users also gain heavy attacks.
Builders can use Sparkworks to connect interactive props and define their behavior through a graph editor. The system supports custom puzzles, traps and encounters. A new Airborne Architect skill enables building while freely flying, making complex projects easier to assemble.
What returning players need to know
PC players who bought Early Access do not need to purchase Enshrouded again. Their existing saves remain usable and convert to a new format, but the first load in 1.0 resets the character’s skill tree. Reassign those points before heading into demanding encounters.
Cross-platform multiplayer is unavailable at launch. Keen says it is working on the feature, but has not supplied an estimate. That makes platform compatibility a practical detail to check before organizing a group for the new region.
