A circuit leads the update
PlayStation’s October 14 announcement details Part 1 of Gran Turismo 7’s Spec IV update: Sportsland Sugo, six additional vehicles, new events and Scapes locations. It also introduces Experience mode and additions to Car Viewer.
Watch the time zone
The announced start was October 14, 2026 at 11 p.m. PDT (UTC−7): October 15 at 2 a.m. EDT in New York, 6 a.m. UTC and 3 p.m. JST. Polyphony Digital subsequently published the October 15 version 1.72 update notice. The update is free; the cars are acquired through the game’s dealerships.
Where the additions actually lead
Sugo receives European Sunday Cup 400, World Touring Car 600 and World Touring Car 800 events. The full six-car list is Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston ’86, Ferrari F355 Berlinetta ’94, Honda Civic Si Group A version ’87, Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line ’23, Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo ’26 and Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo.
The live 1.72 notes place the Citroën, Ferrari and Civic in Used Cars; the other three are in Brand Central. This matters because the earlier PlayStation.Blog description put the Civic in Legend Cars. We follow the newer update notice for that purchase route.
A return route for collectors
Vintage gathers cars from 2000 and earlier inside Brand Central. Car Concierge opens after Menu Book No. 39 and the ending; it lets players request a model, color and condition. The Collector Level cap rises to 90, while Experience adds brand challenges for Hyundai, Polestar, Xiaomi and Yangwang. Car Viewer supplies new angles and backgrounds for photographs.
Our analysis: the update offers separate reasons to return. A racer can learn the new circuit through its events; a collector can begin with the dealership tools instead. Check an event’s entry conditions before buying a car solely for it. None of these additions, by themselves, demonstrates which vehicle is fastest or how an old setup will behave after updating.
