The takeawayBlood Pact changes how a Wildcard round develops: your faction’s challenges unlock powers, while fog can interrupt familiar sightlines.

Two factions, different rewards

Respawn’s October 13 Blood Pact announcement introduces a choice between Beasts and Demons in Wildcard. Completing round-specific challenges earns faction Wild Cards, with damage and knock objectives among the examples.

Beasts lean into melee movement speed, faster shield cells and weapon switching, with temporary critical hits after reloading. Demons receive faster ability recharge, high-tier shields and a full shield recharge from one cell.

The map becomes part of the threat

Kings Canyon gets haunted buildings, altered loot bins and pumpkin-styled EVO orbs. Random fog reduces visibility, while returning Rev Shell Grenades give squads another way to pressure opponents they cannot easily see.

The practical question is when to pursue a challenge and when to move. A familiar rotation can become much riskier once the fog arrives, so the event’s power upgrades and its map changes should be considered together.

Gameplay and the shop are separate

The announcement also promotes themed cosmetics for Sparrow and Alter, plus an R-99 skin. Those store items are a separate part of the event from the faction mechanics described above.

Read the challenge before committing

The official trailer announcement dated October 8 set the event’s arrival for October 13, 2026. The October 13 event post describes fresh challenges each round, rather than an automatic grant of every faction power at the start of a match. Beasts’ movement bonus is specifically described as melee movement speed; it should not be generalized to every movement action.

Our analysis: choosing a faction also means choosing which conditional rewards to pursue. A squad should read its current round objective together before pushing simply to accumulate damage or knocks. The important decision is whether the challenge can be completed without giving up the position needed to survive the next fight.

Fog introduces uncertainty in both directions: it can conceal your rotation while also concealing another squad’s. Communicating the last known enemy position and agreeing on a regroup point are sensible responses to that design, not evidence of a guaranteed winning route. We have not measured faction win rates, critical-hit duration or the frequency of fog from live matches.
