What Arrowhead announced
The Scope of Authority Premium Warbond arrives October 20, according to Arrowhead’s October 13 PlayStation.Blog post. Its announced weapons include the R-40 Sightliner sniper rifle, P-44 Mist machine pistol, AMW-20 Apex anti-materiel rifle and LAS-44 Nova energy rifle.
A different tactical emphasis
The reveal pairs precision weapons with camouflage-themed armor. The announced Stationary Shroud passive reduces weapon sway and detection range while crouched or prone. Those descriptions suggest a deliberate long-range theme; they do not establish how powerful the equipment will be in live missions.
Before you plan a loadout
This is a premium Warbond. The announcement specifies the base game, Super Credits and progression requirements. Wait for the release and testing before treating any weapon as an essential purchase or a new best-in-slot option.
The equipment has different jobs
The reveal describes the Sightliner as a bolt-action primary with armor-piercing rounds. The Apex is backpack-fed and supports assisted reloads. Nova fires a precise, non-explosive thermal projectile after charging; G-11 Caltrops scatter proximity-triggered submunitions that slow and stun. These are advertised functions, not measured damage or cooldown results from our testing.
Our analysis: long-range equipment still has to fit the mission. A player planning to carry the Apex should discuss the assisted-reload role with a teammate, while a precision primary leaves the squad to consider how it handles threats that close the distance. The passive’s crouched-or-prone condition also matters: its described benefits should not be treated as a permanent effect during every movement state.
The announcement gives October 20, 2026 as the date, without a release hour or timezone. It does not provide a Super Credit price in the post. Check the live Warbond screen for cost and unlock requirements when it appears, then judge the package against the equipment and progression you already have.
