The news
GamesBeat reported on October 13 that Rockstar plans a PC release in the first quarter of 2027, attributing the information to four industry contacts whose names were withheld. The article was updated on October 14.
What is actually official?
Rockstar’s GTA VI page lists November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It does not list a PC launch date as of our October 15, 2026 check.
Q1 means January through March. The reported window would put PC relatively close to the console launch, but it is not a promise from Rockstar.
What a PC buyer can act on
GamesBeat’s Alexander Lee says the four sources were familiar with the studio’s plans; the publication also says Rockstar did not reply before publication. That describes the reporting behind the claim, rather than an announcement made by Rockstar. January 1–March 31, 2027 is a calendar window, not a specific release day.
Our analysis: a platform date, hardware requirements and purchasing details serve different decisions. The report does not establish the minimum GPU, CPU, storage requirement, PC price or store availability. Using it to choose a new graphics card would require assumptions about information that this story cannot verify.
For someone deciding whether to wait, the useful next signal is an official PC announcement identifying the platform and date. Even if a reported internal target is accurate when reported, a plan can change before a product ships. Keep the report’s October 13 publication date attached when sharing it, and check the publisher’s own platform list again before spending money.
